How to install HP OfficeJet 200 Mobile Printer

In this guide, we will show you how to install HP OfficeJet 200 Mobile Printer and get it all set up and ready for taking printing jobs from your computer. Please follow the guide carefully to install HP OfficeJet 200 Mobile Printer without any hassles.

Step 1: Unboxing the printer

The contents in the printer packaging box may vary by country or region. Please refer to the packaging for a list of items that are shipped in the box.

  1. Open the packaging box and take out the printer from the box.
  2. Remove the tapes and packaging materials from the outer body of the printer.
  3. Lift the top cover and then remove the tapes from the inner body of the printer. Be careful not to put too much pressure on the printer components.
  4. Open the cartridge access door. Remove all the tapes and packaging material from the inner body of the printer.
  5. Once completed, recycle the packaging materials.

Step 2: Insert the battery of the printer

  1. By turning the rear end of the printer towards you, switch on the printer.
  2. Push the latch of the battery cover to the right and then pull the battery cover towards you. Remove the battery cover.
  3. Take out the battery and unwrap it.
  4. Slide the battery into the battery slot. Press the left side of the battery. It will click into its place.
  5. Slide the battery cover into the slot to cover the battery. The left side of the battery cover will click into its place, confirming the successful installation of the battery cover.

Step 3: Establish power and set your printer preferences

  1. Take out the power cord. Connect one end of the power cord to the rear side of the printer and the other end of the power cord into an electrical socket.
  2. Switch on the printer.
  3. On the control panel of the printer, press the navigational arrow buttons to select your desired language and country/region. Press OK to continue.

Step 4: Loading plain paper into the input tray

The printer supports a variety of paper formats such as U.S. Letter, U.S International and A4 size paper.

  1. Open the top cover of the printer. Then, lift the control panel.
  2. Slide-out the paper guides as far as possible.
  3. Load a maximum of 50 sheets of plain paper into the paper tray of the printer.
  4. Now, slide the paper guides inwards until they gently touch the edges of the paper stack. Do not slide in the guides too tightly against the paper stack.

Step 5: Install the ink cartridges

  1. Open the access door of the ink cartridge.
  2. The carriage will move to its position near the center. Wait for the movement to complete. Once the carriage is idle, continue to the next steps.
  3. Unpack the ink cartridges. Be careful not to touch anything other than the black plastic on the cartridge.
  4. Remove the plastic tape that is covering the cartridge.
  5. Insert the ink cartridge into the slot on the carriage. Slide in the cartridge until the cartridge clicks into its position.
  6. Repeat the above step for the colour cartridge.
  7. Close the access door of the ink cartridge.
  8. The printer will automatically print an alignment page once the ink cartridges have been installed. This process is necessary to obtain the best print quality out of your printer.
  9. If the printer did not print the alignment page, follow the steps below to manually print an alignment page:
  10. On the home screen of the control panel of the printer, use the navigational arrow buttons to select Press OK.
  11. Press the down arrow to select Press OK.
  • Press the down arrow again to select Align Printer. Press OK to continue.
  1. The printer will now display the “Aligning…” message while printing the alignment page. It is normal for the printer to produce mechanical noises during the print process of the alignment page.

Your HP OfficeJet 200 Mobile Printer is now set up and ready. Now you can install the printer software to finish the overall setup of the HP OfficeJet 200 Mobile Printer.

To install the printer software, follow the steps below:

  1. Open your web browser and visit http://123.hp.com/OJ200
  2. Download the latest version of the printing software from the given website.
  3. Once finished, go to the Downloads folder of your browser and double-click on the installer file to begin the installation of the printer software.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the installation of the printer software.
